Vivant van de Heffinck

Olympic showjumping stallion with over 50% blood. Belgium warmblood, approved for Hanover, OS-International, Westphalia, Rhineland, South Germany Stud Book. WFFS Negative

Vivant van de Heffinck has long been regarded as one of the most sought-after stallions in international show-jumping.  This modern stallion offers excellent technique, scope, and character.  Olympian, Vivant can boast an amazing 5 world cup qualifiers.  In 2010 he took 7th place in the World Cup Final, won the Munich Indoors Championship and ranked 5th best jumping stallion in the world.  He was a travailing reserve for the Beijing Olympics and placed 4th in the Aachen Grand Prix, 3rd in the Bremen GP, won the Hagen GP and competed in the 2012 London Olympics. Retiring to stud at the age of 18, Vivant’s longevity in international stud is a testament to his very correct conformation.  Although some frozen semen was available before his retirement, it is only now that we are truly seeing a consistent representation of his offspring and their performance abilities.

In the 3rd generation, Hedjaz is also dam-sire to Otterongo, the fourth-placed Olympian in Sydney, 2000 and McLain Ward’s (USA) Sapphire, one of the most successful show jumpers of recent times.

In Australia Vivant already has several offspring jumping and eventing with success internationally.  Including Shane Rose’s 2021 Tokyo  Olympic Silver eventer, Virgil (Vivant x Unknown). In Europe, Emily Sage and Vogue TW ( Vivant van de Heffinck X Conthargos) took 5th place at the 2021 FEI WBFSH JUMPING WORLD BREEDING CHAMPIONSHIP FOR YOUNG HORSES.  The 23-year-old rider, Philipp Schulze Topphoff had a fantastic win in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, 7yr Old Cup Final 2022 with Vivantas (Vivant X Balou du Rouet) and in August 2022, the 1st, 2cnd and 3rd placements in the Millstreet Young Irelander were all by Vivant.

2023 saw Viva Fly (Vivant X MTF Star Power) win the 6-year-old German Championship, the Bundeschampionate and compete in the final at the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Championship For Young Horses with an unfortunate 4 faults.  Other top young Vivant horses include Vivante Grafinia (Vivant x Balou du Rouet) competing at 150m with Kevin Staut and Vivantessa (Vivant X Conthargos), winner of the CSIU25YJ Grand Prix at Sentower Park.
